Third meeting of the Council for development

The Council for Development of the Southwest planning region held today the third session at which the Report on the degree of realization of the Program for development of the Region in 2017, as well as the Action Plan for the work of the Center for Development in the current year were reviewed and adopted. Regarding the implementation of the Program for development, it was emphasized that, through various forms of action, where the realized project activities were of prime importance, significant attention was paid to the realization of the four strategic goals and priorities of the Program. In this direction, by the Center for Development, as well as from the municipalities belonging to the Region, most of the realized activities are in the field of education, social development, and the protection of the environment. In addition to the projects approved by the Bureau of Regional Development, that is, the Ministry of Local Self-Government in 2017, the Center for development team implemented projects supported by the Agency for Support of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as projects that were accepted by the donor community, ie from UNDP. The total amount of the funds invested through the Center for Development of the Southwest planning region, in the municipalities, is just over 20 million denars.

 

Regarding the work in the current year, it was pointed out that, through a partnership relationship with the municipalities of the Region, the Center for Development of the Southwest planning region will carry out activities in the four strategic objectives of the Program. The biggest interest, from the municipalities, has been expressed for projects in the first strategic goal - raising the level of economic growth of the Region, as well as in the area of ​​environmental protection. Otherwise, in the four strategic goals, about 400 million denars are expected to be invested, with projects through the Center for Development amounting to 40 million denars, and the rest will fall on projects of the Municipalities themselves

 

At the today's session, the new Regional Waste Management Board was established, in which the mayors of the 9 Municipalities from the Region are members, and Fatmir Dehari, Mayor of the Municipality of Kichevo, was elected for President.
