Grant Scheme for Centers for development

Within the project "Improving municipal governance" funded by the European Union, implemented through the UNDP Office in Skopje in cooperation with the Centers for Development, on 11.07.2018, in hotel Mirage, Struga, the Center for development of the  southwest planning region held a one-day workshop for presentation of the Grant Scheme for the Centers for Development of the Planning Region

 

On the workshop participated representatives of the local self-government units within the region, representatives from Public municipal utilities from the region, representatives from the civil sector, business community, cluster of tourism, Agency for promotion and support of tourism and educational institutions.

 

The workshop was aimed for presenting three concepts for project proposals from the annual list of priority projects for 2018. The participants were informed about each project proposal individually by presenting the main goals, activities, timeframe for implementation, and the required budget for the following three project proposals:

 

Draft project no. 1: Study and basic projects for the construction of micro-regional staging stations for stray dogs in the SWEP
The objectives of the project are:
Improving the conditions for safe movement of citizens and tourists
Improving the living conditions of stray dogs in the SWEP

Project proposal no. 1: Study and basic projects for the construction of micro-regional staging stations for stray dogs in the SWPR

The objectives of the project are:

  • Improving the conditions for safe movement of citizens and tourists
  • Improving the living conditions of stray dogs in the SWPR

 

Project proposal no. 2: Basic projects for placing photovoltaic systems on the roof surface of public buildings

  • Preparation of Basic projects for placing photovoltaic systems of public buildings in the Municipalities of the region (25 to 38 Basic projects depending on the size of the buildings)
  • Utilizing Renewable Energy Sources; Preserving air quality; Reducing the consumption of electricity in public buildings.

 

Project proposal no. 3: Basic Project for Building a home for elderly people and Cost-Benefit Analysis

Objectives of the project:

  • Improving the quality of life of the elderly people in the South-west planning region, ie improving their socio-economic status, availability of resources in the environment and integration in the social environment

 

On 18.07.2018 a session of the Regional Council is scheduled where the final decision on a priority project proposal is expected, with which the Center for development of the south-west planning region will apply for funds from the Grant Scheme.
