Training for Geographic Information System

In the frames of the project for developing a geographic information system for management of construction land in order to attract investments in the Southwest planning region, from September 30 to October 2nd, a training took place at which the municipal representatives had the opportunity to get acquainted with the software applications of Arc Gis for client and server solutions from ESRI. The training was carried out by representatives of the operator - GDI Gis Data from Skopje, who, besides the software solutions of the aforementioned applications, introduced the participants with the current trends in creating different databases, which can significantly change the work of the Municipalities.

In this regard it is one of the components of the project which involves creating a database for the nine municipalities from the Region of attractive construction land they have at their disposal, in order the same to be presented and promoted on the global internet network. According to the established scheme, all attractive locations will have a unified attribution presentation that will significantly facilitate the investors' knowledge of the investment opportunities in the Region. Also, should be noted that the databases, in addition to the potentials available to the municipalities, will cover TID zones, touristic development zones and Brownfields investment opportunities.

The Center for development of the Southwest planning region through the project purchased ESRI products - Arc Gis for client and server operations that can be used by the municipalities for development of various databases, and also purchased hardware equipment at which the same are installed and the presentation application for the attractive construction sites in the Region will soon be moved.
