First workshop with business sector

On26th of March, 2015 in hotel Drim in Struga was organized the first workshop as a part of the project: "Innovative Solutions for Improved Access to Services at Local Level". The main goal of the workshop is to increase the competitiveness of the planning regions through supporting small and medium enterprises and the entrepreneurship in the region. With the realization of the planned project activities it should be expected to increase the investment levels, creation of new job opportunities and fulfilment of the demands and interests of the business community. The project will also increase the access to information, as well as the level of participation of the business community in making appropriate decisions at local and regional level.

 

At the workshop, significant attention was given on two essential documents which will be prepared in the following period - SME development Programme together with the Communication strategy and Guide for investments. In the workshop active participation took the State Secretary of the Ministry of Local Self Government, Mrs. Biljana Cvetanovska Gugoska. She emphasized that with the achievement of the projects aims and objectives, general economic situation in the region will be improved.

In the context of quality preparation of these documents, the company Target Communications from Skopje, presented the methodology and outcomes by their representative Aleksandar Celeski. In addition, there was discussion for the development policy of the region, with special emphasis on the small and medium enterprises, by MSc Lazar Nedanoski from Macedonian Enterprise Development Foundation.

The following workshops will highlight many topics interesting for the business community such as: capacities for development, national and international funding, networking and other areas. Eminent Macedonian experts will be invited as lecturers to these workshops.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Local Self Government and the United Nations Development Programme.
